Fit Club Ups and Downs

04 November 2009 | By tracy-kgmi in Uncategorized

First off, make sure to read Todd’s comments on my previous post.

I missed my first Bellingham Athletic Club workout on Wednesday. A convenient excuse is the previous night’s election, but I should have forced myself to go. I also ate like a pig on election night - the traditional newsroom fare is pizza and soda. I also ate/drank way too much over the weekend so I’m a bit angry with myself.

The good news is that I’ve already lost some weight and I’m actually feeling stronger. I’m looking forward to meeting with our counselor Kellie to talk further about my eating habits and Todd and I plan to start playing racquetball or basketball at the club.

  1. Wow… If only all my clients kept blogs. Then I can see how bad they really are :). No more excuses! All in all, you are doing great. I missed you on Wed.

  2. First, I wasn’t going to call Tracy out on missing a workout, so I honor his honesty!

Well, we are done with Week 3 of Fit Club tomorrow, and we are having our monthly weigh-in tomorrow. I know I have already lost some weight and I am really not sweating the amount. To echo what Tracy said, I feel stronger and healthier already and that is really what this is all about, what Tracy and I are really after. I hope to talk to Kellie soon and make planning meals easier, that is the hardest part of this experience so far.

As I said, Tiffany and Darcy are tough! I feel the workout the next day for sure, but it is one of those “good” hurts where you don’t really mind it since you know you earned that hurt! Another observation I’ve had, when I wake up in the morning before going to the gym I always want a huge breakfast, something like the Hungry-Man Special at Cedar’s! However, after going to the gym and getting your butt kicked for an hour, you wouldn’t DARE eat something like that because I would have just wasted that hour! What a good feeling.

On a side-note, I am proud of my hometown in the turnout and respect shown to SPC Aaron Aamot and his family this afternoon. I pulled the kids out of school early, got Riley dressed in his Cub Scout uniform and went down there to pay our respects. The turnout was amazing and I would like to express my best wishes to the Aamot family, thank you.
