I just want to say how much I love the local shows on KGMI and also enjoy reading the comments on the Blogs as I have worked with the public in Whatcom County for years and enjoy hearing what the Locals have to say. I would really enjoy getting the Newsletter but do not want to be entered into all the contests as I can not use most of what is offered. Is there a way to get the Newsletter and only enter the contests that I want. As you see, I have Webtv so do not do Facebook, Twitter etc. Keep up the great work and I hope soon you will have more local shows as they did in the old days. Thank you

Weigh to go, guys. I can Guess that took alot of commitment, determination and spiritual stamina to stick with. Ya got my admiration for making it through all that. I have a hard time sticking with any Exercise, Sleeping or Eating schedule myself. Think my Biorhythms probably must "sound" like a percussion stand being kicked at varying pace down the stairs lol.

Like Tracy said, we are wrapping up our Fit Club experience and to put it in one word - AMAZING!

Now anyone that knows me knows I can't use one word for anything, so let me flesh it out for you. Working with Tiffany, Darcy and Tara over the last three months has been a lot of fun; sure it started out hard, Tracy and I could barely move the next day (or two) when we first started our workouts, but as the weeks have turned to months, I have felt better, both physically and mentally.

The mental part got a lot of help from Kellie, our counselor. Either in face-to-face meetings or by email, Kellie was very helpful in looking at new ways to schedule meals and to rethink how you eat and what you eat. My wife would tell you that 10 years ago she never would have thought she would see me giving up eggs and bacon for grapefruit and soy protein drinks for breakfast! But that is the reality - if you want to be healthy and be in better shape, you have to rethink the status quo and try something new.

I have to thank everyone involved with Fit Club so much for the chance to take on this challenge; Bellingham Athletic Club, our trainers Tiffany, Darcy, and Tara, our counselor Kellie, also, from KGMI, Jacqueline Cartier and Joe Teehan and Patti Brooks for having me on their Saturday morning show to talk about this adventure.

I also want to thank Tracy, my Fit Club partner; while we didn't get a chance to try racquetball or basketball at the gym, having someone you can rely on to be there every morning for the gym who is going to be suffering along with you is great motivation.

Thanks again to everyone involved, and thanks to everyone who voted for me. I don't have my final measurements yet, but I know I have lost some weight and a lot of inches, and I am physically in much better shape and on my way to meeting my long-term goal of being fit for life!

Well, like Tracy said, we got measured to check our progress for Fit Club and I am excited and encouraged by my results!

Overall, I lost 11 inches in my body measurements, mostly in my shoulders, waist and hips. I did lose 4.5 pounds, which is great, but I am way more excited by the inches. I feel like I am putting muscle on, thanks to all the body-punishing workouts we have been going through with Tiffany and Darcy, and that is going to add some weight. Seeing that the inches have gone done really lets me know that all this hard work is paying off.

I have also gotten some compliments from people who have noticed a difference since I started Fit Club, which is always nice! I think that that little affirmation from someone else means so much more, especially from someone who hasn't seen me on a daily basis throughout this process.

Last week was a tough one for me with different work and family matters coming up and causing me to miss a couple workouts. Luckily, I worked on a project last week that was as physically demanding as our workouts, so I got my punishment in. But I did take advantage of the fact that there are three Winning Weighs classes on Mon/Wed/Fri, so I got in on an afternoon class when I was too sore to workout on Wednesday morning!

Tracy and I are at a crucial time in our quest to change our lifestyles (and bodies hopefully) - the dreaded HOLIDAYS!!! AAUUGGHH....but it doesn't have to be that scary. Talking with Kellie, our counselor, you get the encouragement to pick your battles and know that sometimes it is okay to forget your diet, but just don't make a habit of it! So, over the next couple weeks (and by our next measurements), we will see if the changes I have been able to implement in my life survive the holidays!

Keep following Tracy and I on this blog, and on the Saturday Morning Show with Patty and Joe - I heard Darcy on there this weekend, I think it was her first time on there. She sounded good, all sweet and innocent, totally unlike the demon Tracy and I will face tomorrow morning! I kid, I kid... But keep following us and try it yourself, anyone can do it if these two wing-eating and alcohol-swilling guys can do it!

Well, the last week has been a hard one for staying on track; the holidays, job interviews, family issues, etc. It's never easy to stay on track all the time and my train jumped the track last week!
However, something that I have learned and have been reminded by our trainers Tiffany and Darcy and our counselor Kellie is that what we need to focus on is a lifestyle change, changing how we look at what we eat and when we eat it, and to find a way to exercise wherever you are. Using that mindset I was able to get some workouts in and to keep my eating in check even when taunted with pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes and gravy!
I did meet with Kellie last week and that was great! Not only did I get to talk about my experiences so far with Fit Club, but Kellie gave me some really great pointers and ideas to maximize my hard work. By looking at what my Body Bugg has recorded and what I have reported with my diet, Kellie was able to pinpoint hidden landmines that might be holding me up on obtaining my fitness goals - how cool is that?!
Listen this Saturday morning to Joe and Patti, I will be on their show talking about my expriences with Fit Club and the Winning Weighs program at BAC!

Don Imus was OffAired for alot less, maybe someone in the FCC wants to take a Listen to El Rushbo sometime.

Lush Windbag's Notoriously out of touch, blaming the failings of the economy on people not getting out and buying enough?

{Yeah ok sure, with what money from what jobs, ya doof.}

I won't miss him, he's too large a target, but seriously... Radio will do just fine without him.

He did crack me up recently though when he was saying he just absolutely cannot stand egotism and arrogance in a person, anyone thinking they're better than anyone else. Says the man with talent on loan from God? Uh-huh.

Oh I get it, he's Comedy! Most people just don't find him funny.

Whats the point anymore??? If people are so frustrated with Rush, JUST IGNORE HIM!!! He has no power in the Government and he can't tell you what to think. The fact that so many people are out to put him down is kind of amusing to me. If you like what I have to say, why don't you try looking at some of the loud mouths on the other side of the fence. They're all saints and angels right??? Come on! Just give it a rest.

Well, I too have missed my first workout! Unfortunately, I had to be down in Seattle on Monday and could not be at our workout on Monday morning.
BUT, one of the great things about the workouts that Tiffany and Darcy have been putting us through is that Tracy and I are learning things that we can use on our own. One big thing that I am taking away from Fit Club is that you don't need a fancy gym, you don't need an elliptical machine or a treadmill, you have everything you need around you to make up a workout plan.

Basically, what Tracy and I are doing, with big thanks to Tiffany and Darcy and Kellie, is relearning how we think - about our diet, our workouts, and ourselves. Sometimes you have to forget about the aches and the pains, suck it up and get back to the gym! It really does become something you look forward to, even knowing you are going to get your butt kicked that morning!

Make sure to keep reading Tracy's blog and listen to KGMI for more about our experiences with Fit Club!
